Before going to an event that requires you to dress up, you must first select a suit that is appropriate for the occasion. For example if you are attending a funeral or wake service a black or charcoal grey suit would be a good choice. However a powder blue or white suit would be a poor choice and some people may take offence to it.

Once you have your foundation suit colors in your wardrobe it is a good idea to start looking at some safe suit colors. These are accepted suit colors that do not draw too much attention to them.
